LOCO Pickleball Friendly Team Match v Sileby TC
Another Match victory for Team Loco. Our team played Sileby Tennis Club pickleballers on Thursday, 21st January at our Kirkby-in-Ashfield venue and came away with a brilliant 34-14 points victory.
The match was full of energy, great sportsmanship and friendly competition followed by a lovely spread put on by our team for our visitors.
Huge congratulations to Dane, Phil T, James, John, Jacky, Kate, Sue T and Julie B - you did Loco proud..

Leeds Tournament
More success for LOCO Pickleball players over the 2 days of the Leeds Tournament on the 17th/18th January 2026.
Ladies Doubles. on the first day:
Abbie & Sarah, playing together for the first time, had a great day, just narrowly missing out on a Bronze medal.
Meanwhile Kate & Carol played well together & didn't lose a match all day & won the Gold medal!
Mixed Doubles:
Kate & Chris made it through to the play off rounds. A brilliant achievement considering Chris was carrying a shoulder injury.
Carol & Mark made it through to the semi finals and came home with a Bronze medal.
Well done to everyone who entered, including Estelle, Alison, and Robert and many thanks to their supporters..
Nottingham End of Year Tournament
It's been an amazing & fun weekend for LOCO Pickleball!
Several of our players were in action on 27th and 28th December in the End of 2025 Year Pickleball Tournament in Nottingham.
Held in the LTA Nottingham Tennis Centre, it was the first event for some of our players and what a great experience & success it was!
On Saturday: Hari won Gold in the mens 18+ 3.5.
James won SIilver in the Mens 18+ 3.0.
On Sunday: Mark T won GOLD in the mixed 18+ 3.0
Kate & Carol won SILVER in the ladies 50+ 3.5.
Congratulations to all our medallists & to everyone who competed! Along with our success and our club clothing, as a club we didn't go unnoticed.. You showed with your grit, dtermination and humour exactly why LOCO Pickleball is the best club ever.
Finally, a big thank you to all who came along to support the players and also to the organisers for a brilliant tournament!

What a great way to celebrate our very first year of LOCO Pickleball!
We had it all: delicious food, top-notch company, plenty of laughs, and surprises that even we didn’t see coming.
The photo booth was buzzing, the quiz tested brains we didn’t know we had, and an immense free prize draw.

A huge shout-out to our Player Representative Sue and John, our behind-the-scenes wizard who juggles spreadsheets, websites, posters, graphics and finances.
But the biggest thanks of all go to our amazing players, who generously contributed to our fabulous surprise gifts. and helped to build such a friendly all inclusive pickleball community.
LOCO Pickleball Christmas 25 Competition
Our pickleball players truly went to town, donning their Christmas gear for our festive Christmas Rally 21 competitions, held across all our venues in the lead-up to the Christmas break.
We were treated to elves, a Christmas tree, reindeers — and even one very suspect, muscle-bound Christmas hunk! The competitions were as tight as Santa’s belt on Boxing Day, but everything was played in the true spirit of Christmas and enjoyed by all

V Hucknall U3A

Another win for Team LOCO!
Team LOCO were awesome in the match v Hucknall U3A at Hucknall LC on the 22nd November.
A lovely friendly match, played in the full spirit of the game.
It was so very close, touch & go throughout,. With oneround to go we were 5 points behind, but our awesome team won the next round by 10 points to win .287 - 282!

Thanks to they Hucknall team - and in particular we mustn't forget our Julie, who played for Hucknall today, but we'll let her off!!

On the 19th November our Loco team playedoury first match against Southwell U3A team — and everyone brought great rallies, big smiles, and loads of laughs. The final score was 35–13 to Loco, but the real win was the fun had by all!.
Our players looked fantastic in their Loco clothing whilst showing top-notch teamwork and sportsmanship.
Huge shout-out to our amazing squad:: Maeve, Maria, Helen R, Pam, Mick C, Peter D, Chris G and Dennis.
We’re so proud of you all for representing Loco Pickleball with style, spirit, and plenty of smiles (and yes… in all the excitement we totally forgot photos. Well done, team — you’re all Pickleball stars!.
V Southwell U3A
LOCO Pickleball at the Telford Pickleball Festival
Held on the 30th November the Telfod Pickleball Festival was awash blue as LOCO Pickleball players , dressed in their smart club gear, played their hearrts .......... and ........ bodies outin a series of fun and friendly games with players from all over the country.
For many of our players it was their first fetival and it's fair to say everyone thoroughy enjoyed the experience even if their bodies told a different story the following day.
Play as much or as little as you want but some rearly got their monies worth and played well over 20 matches during the day.
Great fun, great company and as much Pickleball as you wanted ............ agreat day out!!
LOCO Pickleball Success at the Sheffield Tournament
A few of our players travelled to Sheffield to play in the tournament.
On Saturday 20th September Brandon won a Bronze medal in the 18+ 4.0 category. What a fantastic achievement Brandon!
Kevin Turner, playing in the Open Men's 3.0 doubles with his son Mark, won 3 matches & lost 3. A brilliant first tournament Kev!
On Sunday Kate & Carol were in the over 50 ladies doubles 3.5 - 4.0 and came away with the SIilver Medal!.
In the Mixed Doubles 3.5, Steve Bravery & Carol topped their group by winning all of the 3 matches, but ran out of steam & lost both the Semi Finals & the Bronze Medal match.

LOCO Pickleball Win Gold at the Fox Pickleball Team Event
Huge Congratulations to our Loco Pickleball Team in winning the Fox Pickleball Team Event held at the Corby Tennis Centre on Sunday 14th September.
Kate and Chris were undefeated and took home Gold Medals in the Over 50 3.0 Mixed category.
Lorraine and Gary only dropped one game and proudly earned Bronze Medals.
The day was topped off with the LOCO Team winning the Gold Medal in the Over 50 Team Event!
An incredible day filled with determination, teamwork, finishing with an outstanding results. Well done Team Loco!

Loco Pickelball ~ Lowdham Members Ladies Night
LLadies' Night at Lowdham
What a night! Fabulous company, flowing drinks, tasty bites, and music that had toes tapping (and maybe even a few hips shaking). But of course, the real star of the evening? Three glorious hours of Pickleball mayhem — complete with laughter, questionable shots, surprise winners, and a whole lot of competitive spirit disguised as “just for fun.”
Who knew smashing a wiffle ball around could be this glamorous?


Loco Pickleball win the West Midlands Ladies Championship
Gold Medals for LOCO Pickleball Coaches Lorraine Cockell & Carol Whittington.
Congratulations to LOCO Pickleball coaches Lorraine and Carol on winning gold at the West Midlands Ladies Open Over 50s Pairs Tournament, held at the Telford Pickleball Centre on 4th June.
In a thrilling final, the duo staged an impressive comeback after trailing 7–12, ultimately securing victory with a 15–12 win. Their triumph not only earned them the gold medal but also preserved their 100% unbeaten record throughout the tournament.
Loco Pickelball ~ First Team Match v Caunton Tennis Club
A Proud Milestone for LOCO Pickleball!
The 4th June 2025 marked a special day in LOCO Pickleball’s journey, as eight of our players took part in our very first friendly team match against the well-established Caunton Picklers.
With energy, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship, our team gave it everything — and secured a brilliant 36–12 victory! Not bad at all for a club that’s only 6 months old still finding its feet!
A huge round of applause to our fantastic team: Hari, Helen, Carl, Pippa, John, Kevin, Julie, and Cath. You all played superbly, and we couldn’t be prouder. And let’s be honest — with coaches like ours, was there ever any doubt?
Here’s to many more matches, new friendships, and memorable wins on the court. 🏆

Cotgrave, Epperstone & Bingham Taster Sessions
Lorraine and Carol held another 3 Loco Pickleball Taster Sessions at Cotgrave Leisure Centre, Epperstone Village Hall and Bingham Sports Centre. All the attendees had an enjoyable time experiencing the basic techniques of pickleball as well as playing the game. They are now signing up for future regular sessions to develop their skills further and meet others new to Pickleball.


Southwell Improver Session
The first Loco Pickleball Improver Session using 4 courts was held at Southwell Leisure Centre on Sunday 12th January 2025. The session included caoching and practise drills followed a number of fun and in some cases very competitive games, with diferent partners and opposition.. During this time individuals where given advice and pointers in to improve their individual skills. It proved to such a resounding success such that the 2 coaches, Carol and Lorraine, received a round of applause from all those who attended!!

Southwell Taster Session
Another 2 Loco Pickleball Taster Sessions using 4 courts was held at Southwell Leisure Centre. Despite the early morning snow a total of 24 eager players attended their first coaching session with Loco Pickleball. They all had a fun time experiencing the basic techniques of pickleball and are now signing up for future regular sessions to develop their skills further.
